Avoid putting cast iron, enameled cast iron, non-stick cookware, and most aluminum pots and pans in the Dishwasher. The Dishwasher’s high water pressure, heat, and detergent can strip the oils from cast iron, damage non-stick coatings and chip enamel, and cause discoloration on aluminum. Washing these items by hand is best to preserve their quality and prevent damage.
